Hamilton Park Racecourse Memorial Construction

Clyde Windows & Construction completed a commercial construction and stonework project at Hamilton Park Racecourse, building the horseshoe-shaped wall around a new memorial sculpture of the late Sir Ian Good and helping to set the sculpture into place.

A memorial project with lasting significance

Hamilton Park Racecourse commissioned the sculpture as part of its centenary celebrations and in memory of its late chairman, Sir Ian Good, who made a significant contribution to Scottish racing. Our role was to construct the curved horseshoe wall surrounding the memorial and assist with positioning the sculpture.

The installation occupies a prominent position at one of Scotland’s best-known racing venues, where it can be seen by the many racegoers who visit the course each year. The work demanded careful setting out, accurate construction and respect for the importance of the memorial to the venue.

Eighteen projects across a 16-year partnership

This memorial is the latest of 18 projects Clyde Windows & Construction has completed at Hamilton Park Racecourse during a working relationship spanning 16 years. The partnership has covered glazing, doors, construction work and exterior improvements across the site.

Previous work has included anthracite grey composite decking with a glass balustrade, a conservatory roof above the Winners’ Enclosure, and arched windows and doors completed in 2015.
